LARGE WHITE BUTTERFLY

A past visitor to our butterfly meadow feeding on knapweed. We encourage wildlife by leaving native wild plants to flower and seed. Although the cabbage white butterfly (Pieris brassicae) is common and considered a pest by many gardeners I think it is still a creature of beauty. I liked the vibrant colours in the shot against the white and its bluish furry head!
