Recovering from potential extinction involves a lot of effort, money and a strong species unwilling to go the way of the dinosaur. Such species do exist. The one highlighted today is the miniature island foxes who are indigenous to California’s Channel Islands.

Great shot Ron. I just read the National Geographic article on these guys (your picture is better than theirs by the way). Very interesting recovery story. They had to get rid of the feral pigs and sheep as well as the golden eagles that came to the islands after the bald eagles died out and started to hunt the pigs and foxes. Then to Dwarf foxes numbers started to climb.
