Teodor was the Serbian Orthodox Bishop of Vršac. He lead the rise against Ottoman occupation in 1594.
When he was caught by Sinan Pasha, he was sentenced to death and burned to death, alive. Teodor was proclaimed as saint, canonized on May 29, 1994.
The Church devoted to Saint Teodor was dedicated on the Vršac Hill and built in 2002, frescoes were painted in 2003.
