Like a rose, American Sign Language (ASL) needs to be tendered (watered), loved (warm sun rays) and cared for (weeds pulled out). Each rose would grow and be fully and healthy. Otherwise, ASL would not have blossmed. Neglect, oppression and devaluation in ASL-English education must cease. Each Deaf ASL-speaking student deserves to have a healthy, accessible language in his/her education and that language is American Language Sign. That student can be a healthy and fully ASL-English bilingual. Giving your tender, caring love to ASL in ASL-English education is sweet!
Dedicated with love to all who speak in American Sign Language (or any signed language in other countries too).
