Carcassonne, France, 2012 - Le Gouffre de Cabrespine
The Pit of Cabrespine, one of the largest caves in the world open to tourism, dominates the village of Cabrespine in the department of Aude, near the peak Nore peak of the Montagne Noire. It is part of the whole cave with concretions of southern France in 2000 included on the tentative list of World Natural Heritage.
It is known for its impressive dimensions of 80 m wide and 250 m deep, it is known worldwide for its rich formations. Also called "giant Cabrespine chasm," his current entry consists of the cave Gaougnas.
