More than 20,000 people visited the Museum of Contemporary Art (MSU) in Zagreb on Sunday and Monday to have a peak close up of the gold FIFA World Cup trophy as it stopped off in the Croatian capital on its world tour which will see it travel 150,000 kilometres to more than 70 nations…
Croatian football fans from all parts of the country came to Zagreb to have a look at what Croatia will be playing for this summer in Brazil. Former Croatian international and scorer in Croatia’s famous 3-0 win over Germany in the World Cup quarter-final in France in 1998, Goran Vlaović was the trophy’s ambassador for the Zagreb leg of the tour. The trophy, which is 6 kilograms of pure gold, has now left Croatia for Turkey.
