Kalemegdan is the biggest park in Belgrade.
At the same time the most important cultural and historical complex dominated by the Belgrade fortress above the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers . The name of Kalemegdan relates to the wide plateau around the fort , which in the eighties of the 19th century turned into a park . Plato, while the Fortress was the main military stronghold of Belgrade, was once observe and ambush the enemy to fight . Its name comes from the Turkish word Kale ( Fortress ) and The Megdan (battlefields ) . Turks use to call Kalemegdan Fikir - Bair , which means " hill for contemplation "

U isto vreme najznačajniji kulturno-istorijski kompleks dominira Beogradska tvrđava iznad ušća Save i Dunava . Naziv Kalemegdan odnosi se samo na prostorni plato oko tvrđave , koja je osamdesetih godina 19. veka pretvoren u park . Platon, dok je Tvrđava bila glavno vojno uporište Beograda , nekada osmotri i sačeka neprijatelja da se bori . Njeno ime potiče od turske reči Kale (Tvrdjava ) i Mejdan (Bojiste). Turci su Kalemegdan nazivali i Fićir - Bair, što znači "breg za razmišljanje".
