A walk through Mt. Cootha Botanical Gardens, Brisbane Queensland, Australia. This clumping bamboo, Bambusa vulgaris, was planted prior to the development of the gardens. The grove is unique as it is over 100 years old and has not yet flowered. This bamboo is considered precious as when the bamboo flowers it also dies. The cycle will then recommence with the replanting of the bamboo grove.
