The Hmong are an Asian ethnic group who live mainly in the mountainous regions of Southeast Asia (China, Vietnam, Laos, Burma and Northern Thailand).
They represent one of the 54 officially recognized ethnic groups of Vietnam.
Generally the Hmong are animists and worship the spirits. They live at high altitudes farming dry rice and medicinal plants and raising animals.
There are several subgroups of Hmong: blacks, whites, reds, greens and flowers, each of which has its own dress code.
Hmong "flowers" subgroup is named for the renowned sophistication of their tissues and of their garments, acterized by images that evoke the shapes and colors of the flowers.
