The pulsatilla vulgaris grows as a perennial, herbaceous plant that has stature heights of up to 15 centimeters, the fruit of up to 40 centimeters during the flowering period. It is a deep-rooting and penetrates more than 1 meter a soil. The leaves are arranged in basal rosette and appear simultaneously with the flowers. The leaf blade is bipinnate with (two to) three to five (or six) pairs of fiederschnittigen to fiederspaltigen Hauptfiedern.
