After 23 days on the Everest Base Camp circuit, and having made it to a number of the more famous locations along the trek, including Everest Base Camp, itself, Kalla Patthar, which provides one of the most famous viewpoints of Everest, and Gokyo Ri, another well-known viewpoint that provides a different perspective of Mt. Everest, it was time for me to return to lower elevations. I spent another 11 days on the trail, descending an average of something like 300 meters a day, and during this time, the scenery and atmosphere changed by incredible degrees. I took this particular shot while still very high in the Himalayas, but within a week, I was in forests, that at times seemed to be almost jungles.
