Hampden House.

Hampden House, the home of Sir John Hampden dates from the 14th century, and the frontage as seen from the Chiltern Way is an early example of Gothic Revival, dating from 1754.
In the foreground is a ha-ha, a common feature of country houses. From the house you get the impression that the garden extends into the fields beyond, while the steep ditch prevents livestock from entering.
