Dusk at Gorak Shep

Gorak Shep is the last stop most casual trekkers make before reaching Everest Base Camp. The "village," which stands at 5,164 meters (16,942 feet) above sea level, consisted of 3 buildings when I visited in November, 2011, and is surrounded by the highest mountains on Earth. This shot was taken from Gorak Shep, moments after the day's last light left the surrounding peaks, but before the clouds above lost the beautiful, pink color shown here.
