The Old Historical Church A Soldiers Safe Haven Torn Down

This old church stood for many decades and served in ways that some of us do not understand. I for one do understand the service that was provided. During the Civil War in the USA the church provided a safe haven for injured soldiers both from the Noth and the South side of the battle. There are a few "prominent" citizens here in the south that did not appreciate the fact that the church served the Noth. It was torn down and not preserved. This nearly broke my heart. Such a sad day it was. If I had had the money to buy it I would have and preserved it.

P.S. I share the same thoughts with you on preservation of historical buildings rich in culture and history. Too bad this was not preserved but you have a pic of it at least! :)
