Pork braised with sweet peppers


Ingredients:

- 800 g pork (leg or shoulder)
- 2 medium onions
- 3 large sweet pepper (500 g in total in a clean condition)
- 800 g of tomatoes in own juice
- salt and ground black pepper to taste

Preparation:

Meat cut in small pieces. Cut onion into half rings, pepper - julienne.

In a heavy-based saucepan on high heat, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. 3-4 call fry the meat until Golden brown, 3-4 minutes on the call. Place on a plate.

Reduce the heat to medium. Put in a pot of onions. Fry, stirring, about 5 minutes.

Add the peppers and fry, stirring, for another 5 minutes.

Put in a pot of meat, mashed tomatoes with their juice, salt and pepper to taste. Pour 250 ml of hot water.

Bring on high heat until boiling, then reduce the flame to low, cover the pot and simmer until meat is soft and tender, about one hour.

Served with potato, rice or vegetable side dish.
