Honey Bee, Apis Mellifera, on my Arm!

Took this pic of the little honey bee that was just hanging out on my arm. This took place during an event called a "Swarm Demo." Basically, me and fellow peers from a beekeeping class got to hold a swarm of bees in our hands! It was very exciting, and also my first experience with honey bees.

Apis mellifera, the european honey bee, is the common honey bee in beekeeping. Beyond being utilized for honey and beeswax, honey bee colonies are moved around the country for agricultural purposes! Most of the money in the bee industry comes from this.
