Roman Martin was born in Zagreb, Croatia in 1966, where he studied, lives and works. After a successful career in management, hobby photography turned it into life's calling.
Roman's photographic activities include shooting landscapes, flora and fauna, street photography and sports photography, especially shooting ski and airline competition, FIS Snow Quenn Trophy Zagreb and Red Bull Air Race Rovigno. Roman is a member of the Croatian Biospeleological Society and a founding member of WLS (WildLife Studio). Association that specializes in recording endemic forms of life in the caves, and geological phenomena in the "World under the World”. In the last two years his team has been actively involved in photo research studies in inaccessible caves using innovative new standards for illumination, and a new form of photo creations called "Light Design". Working with the Croatian Biospeleological society, Roman photographs bats in colonies throughout the year, helping contribute to the easier identification of species.
In association with WLS, Roman photographs endemic reptiles, birds, fauna and flora in general. His works have been published in professional publications, calendars and scientists websites.
In his next project for the monograph: Croatian Caves 2 Photomonography, Roman and his team will be focusing on the Metkovic-Neretva region and photographing the islands of Brusnik, Apple, Bisevo and St. Andrew, and then photographing the Komiža archipelago.
In 2012, Roman joined Photo Workshop Adventures, a premiere Photography Adventure company based in the United States. PWA offers adventures in over 100 destinations in over 50 countries. Roman operates as a European Brand Ambassador and currently leads photo adventures throughout Croatia, Italy, France, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic and Turkey.
